Arlington International Racecourse (CLOSED)

Used to be a real classy joint, back in the day. Real "My Fair Lady" vibes, if you catch my drift. Think fancy hats, mint juleps, the whole shebang. They called it the "crown jewel" of horse racing, and for good reason. Now, they've closed up shop. No more thundering hooves, no more roar of the crowd. Just an empty grandstand and a whole lot of memories. It's like a ghost town now, a real shame. Reminds me of that line from Dylan, "Ah, you're gonna have to leave someday, but it's gonna be a lonely day." They had some big races there, the Arlington Million, that was the big one. Drew crowds from all over the world. High rollers, low rollers, everyone came to see the ponies run. They had a good run, Arlington, a real good run. But like everything in this world, it came to an end. So, if you're looking for a piece of racing history, Arlington's your place. Just don't expect to place any bets. The only action you'll find there now is the wind whistling through the empty stands. It's a sad story, but that's life, right? Like Bukowski said, "What matters most is how well you walk through the fire." Arlington walked through the fire, and now it's gone. Sic transit gloria mundi.

Turning a historic racecourse into a water park? Thats a terrible idea. Respect the tradition.

Horse racing has tradition and history, dog parks are a dime a dozen. Lets keep Arlington as it is.
